Friday again? How can this be?

Seems like every time I turn around, it's Friday again! Another week gone by, another six nights of dinner and homework, and I still feel as though I haven't accomplished anything! It's hard with your dad being home at night; I don't feel comfortable heading for the basement to work on my projects when he wants me to sit in the living room and watch television with him....he actually got mad last night when I refused to watch the vice presidential debates with him. Since when did he turn into a political junkie???? and you know how much I really don't enjoy watching television.

It's been pretty chilly these past few mornings, waking up to about 40 degrees every day. Cold enough that I need to wear a sweater, and we've needed to shut most of the windows at night. So the garden starts coming down this weekend, and I'll start planning next year's garden.

Homecoming game is tonight, and Lydia is of course going with her friends. She headed off to school today in your green tights and fishnets, a mini skirt and an Edina sweatshirt. No doubt she'll come home with green shamrocks painted on her face, and green streaks in her hair! Perfect football weather, though, the kind of weather that's great for wearing a light jacket and drinking hot chocolate at the game, with your fists stuffed in your pockets to keep warm. I'll probably sit on the back steps and watch the fireworks out the back door (probably hear the band from there as well!)

Got your message loud and clear about a French maid costume for Halloween - am wondering how you might feel about my ordering one on-line rather than making one (I know, that sounds somehow indecent.....) I checked on eBay yesterday, and there were over 1000 French Maid costumes for sale. Can we chat about it this weekend? I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed with too many projects on my plate: Amelia's costume, my own dress, Nicole's panty transplant, a grocery bag order, etc., etc.

Will be mailing another box off to you on Monday, stuffed with goodies and essentials. If there is anything in particular you want me to include, be sure to let me know by Sunday!

I feel badly that we can't make it for Parents Weekend tomorrow, but hope that you'll be adopted by a very kind family and made to feel welcome. Or that you and Owen can do some fun things with his group of friends, since I rather doubt his parents will be trekking up for the weekend! We'll be thinking of you and sending warm hugs winging your way.

Love,
Mom
